Using the H610 is simple and straightforward. It's easy to enter the address, the directions are given in a distinct loud voice and on screen instructions are clear as well.

Unplanned delays? Roadworks, traffic jams, emergencies? The H610 will find you a new route right away. And tell you where the speed cameras are on your way.

Speed Camera Data

MioMap v3 conveniently displays the locations of all known speed cameras, as well as the likely sites of mobile ones.

You can have both visual and audio warnings alerting you when a speed camera is in your vicinity. It™s very easy to add new locations to your device when new cameras are placed.

You can even synchronise your device with the MioMap database to download the latest locations, added by other users.

The Mio H610 provides seamless navigation through 24 European countries, with the latest maps from Tele Atlas pre-installed on internal flash memory.

With the H610, door-to-door journey planning throughout Europe is made effortless. Now you can travel to Barcelona, Paris, London or Rome without the need to stop off and key in a new stage of your journey. Just enter the address of your destination and the H610 guides you directly there.

You can choose between 16 different languages: Czech, Danish, Dutch, UK English, US English, Finnish, Flemish, French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish are all available - and you can even choose the voice you prefer for audio directions.

The 24 countries on the H610 are: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Great Britain, Italy, Ireland, Lichtenstein, Luxemburg, Monaco, Norway, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, San-Marino, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Vatican City.

Stuck in traffic?

Connect a TMC (Traffic Message Channel) antenna to your Mio navigation device and you can receive up-to-the-minute road information throughout Europe.* It is free to use, with no subscription and no limit to using the service.

Receive the latest information on everything from road works to accidents and traffic jams by using a TMC antenna (sold separately). Continue your route or choose to go around the obstacles, with the H610 as your handy co-pilot.

TMC is available as a free service throughout Europe, although charges apply in the UK and in some parts of France. Check our e-shop for availability in France and UK.

How TMC works

Radio stations in every European country* now transmit a specially encoded TMC signal containing real-time traffic information.

Your Mio device receives every TMC message and automatically filters them to show those messages relevant to your chosen route. If an incident on your route is reported, you will receive it directly to your Mio device within 30 seconds of broadcast. You can then choose to either carry on regardless of the obstruction ahead, or let your Mio calculate a new route.

Technical details

TMC is a specific application of the FM Radio Data System (RDS) used for the broadcasting of real-time traffic and weather information via radio stations.

By adding a TMC antenna, your Mio device can receive and decode the TMC signal and turn it into relevant traffic information. The message is delivered to you either on screen or as a voice message.

A TMC message consists of 5 elements:

1.Details of the traffic problem and its severity.
2.Location, area and even the section of road involved.
3.Direction and extent of the traffic affected.
4.Expected duration of the problem.
5.Advice on an alternative route.

The H610 has the latest GPS technology insight, so you don't have to worry about reception in the middle of a city or out in the country side. SiRFstarIII helps to pick up satellite signals faster and to hold them better.

The latest SiRFstarIII GPS receiver picks up satellite signals faster and holds them better, and the 400Mhz processor helps you calculate your route more quickly - which means you can get on the road quicker.

The highly sensitive SiRFstarIII GPS chipset can receive signals from up to 20 satellites for extremely accurate positioning, even in the centre of a city or the middle of the countryside. The H610 makes sure you will find your way.

Simple and Smart navigation

Simple and straightforward, a fingernail is all you need to tap away at the buttons on the crystal clear touch screen.
Store your regular haunts in your own POI categories and finding them just couldn't be any easier.

You also have a shortcut button for your home and work addresses in the Favourites menu, so you will always find the way back in a single push of a button.

With the H610, you never have to leave home without your OutlookTM Contacts. But there is more to the H610 than that. It not only synchronises with OutlookTM Contacts on your desktop computer, but also guides you straight to them. Just select the name and you will be able to navigate directly to their home or office, on the condition that you have saved their full address details.
